The BS (CS) is a four years professional degree program consisting of the core
courses in science, mathematics, programming and computing, with specialization
courses in Information & Knowledge Management, Networks & Communication and
Software Engineering. The specialization courses are offered in close
collaboration with national and international software industry requirements so
that the students are well prepared for the changing trends and demands.
Students have to complete 134 credit hours with a minimum CGPA of 2.0 to earn
the degree. Modern technology is utilized to impart knowledge through lecturing
with the use of audio visual aids as well as practical hands on training in the
labs and through case studies and projects. The curriculum is designed as per
HEC recommendations and provides core knowledge of specialized technologies.
Department of Computer Science offers elective courses in four areas of
specialization, namely, Software Engineering Communication and Networks,
Databases and Computational Intelligence. Every student has to take four courses
in his selected major area of specialization and two courses in his selected
minor area of specialization. Team and individual projects are assigned during
various courses as well in the final year to inculcate team spirit, coordination
and team work as well as leadership qualities in the students. The degree
program endeavors to produce graduates who could pursue higher education abroad
or join the industry in the public or private sector enterprises.
