Presently, the faculty of basic and applied sciences has its main thrust on strengthening the engineering and management sciences programmes of the university. There are three departments in this faculty; Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics. The faculty is fully conscious of the fact that basic and applied sciences play a pivotal role in the development of science, engineering and technology. The faculty frequently organizes expository popular lectures on various topics in the basic sciences by eminent mathematicians and scientists.
