World Cancer Day Celebrations at FMC


"We can, I can": FMC holds cancer awareness program to mark the World Cancer Day

ISLAMABAD: Community Medicine Department of Fazaia Medical College (FMC) marked the World Cancer Day at Air University in the Federal Capital on Thursday, 4th February, 2016; a press release of Pakistan Air Force (PAF) said. The Vice Chancellor Air University Air Vice Marshal (R) Faaiz Amir was the Chief Guest while the Principal FMC Major General (R) Professor Salman Ali and Head of Community Medicine Department Dr Rukhsana Khan were present on the occasion. Students of 1st year MBBS organized various competitions including preparation of posters and placards regarding the prevention and cure of dreadful disease of cancer. The students also presented presentations under the theme “We can; I can”. The purpose of the activity was to create awareness among the students regarding importance of preventive measures and early diagnosis to beat the menace at the initial stages. Vice chancellor awarded certificates and prizes to the students. The faculty and students of Fazaia Medical College also organized a walk to promote awareness about this disease. They were carrying placards and banners with slogans on cancer prevention and its remedial measures.
