Forensic experts of twin city met at FAZAIA MEDICAL COLLEGE, AIR UNIVERSITY ISLAMABAD.

The Pakistan society of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology- Federal Chapter held its meeting at Fazaia Medical College, Air University Islamabad on Wednesday 31st May 2016. Forensic medical experts from all the medical colleges of twin city participated in the meeting at the Department of Forensic Medicine, Fazaia Medical College Islamabad. Professor Mian Rashid from Mir Pur AJK and Professor Anjum Zia from KPK also graced the occasion by their presence.

The Pakistan Society of Forensic Medicine and Toxicology is the society of forensic medical experts from all over the country working for the up gradation of the subject of Forensic medicine and Toxicology. It has its Chapters spread countrywide i.e. Punjab, KPK, Sindh, Balochistan and Federal area.
Forensic Medicine is a compulsory medico legal subject which is taught in the curriculum of MBBS to future medical doctors to attain the knowledge of the medico legal system of our country and also to deal with the day to day cases of medico legal importance. Toxicology is the subject which is concerned with the knowledge of various poisons and the medico-legal management of such cases.
In the meeting held at Fazaia Medical College Islamabad, all the experts unanimously decided to coordinate and strengthen all the Chapters to fasten their efforts in upgrading the subject.
The larger Goals will be set and smaller steps will be taken to achieve the goals
The Federal Chapter will organize regular monthly meetings at all medical colleges in the twin city and will hold a scientific session in each meeting.
A national conference was suggested to be arranged in 2016-2017 by the Federal Chapter after coordination with other chapters of the society.
