Air University Central Library

The library aims to enrich learning, teaching and research programmes of the university by providing timely access to the high quality scholarly information and learning material in a variety of formats. With this mission in mind, University aims to be a premier provider of knowledge-based information resources and user-focused services.

Currently located in the basement of administration block, Library has a print collection of more than 12,000 vols. about 20 serial publications and 8 newspapers are on subscription list. Where as, campus wide access to more than 22,000 electronic journals is available through the HEC’s digital library. In addition to students, faculty and other administrative staff members of the university, Library offers paid membership to PAF personnel, academicians and research scholars. There are two discussion rooms for group study and six fully equipped study carrels with computers in the researcher’s room. In addition to this, five computers are available in magazine room for online access to digital resources. The library also provides the facility of T.V. room and coffee corner to its users.

Computer Laboratories and Internet Facilities

Air University provides high-quality IT services to University students, faculty and staff members. We have nine (09) computer labs and one (1) language lab. These are equipped with 411high specs desktop computers. These computers include Corei7, Core2Quad and Core2Duo computers. All computers are centrally connected with domain based network. These labs provide the facilities of high speed internet, intranet, individuals email address, individual secure profiles and separate storage areas. Students have access to computer labs from 8:00am till 9:00pm six days a week (Monday – Saturday). Our highly qualified lab staff is always available there to help students in their daily problems. The local intranet is integrated with the university file server through which students and faculty exchange their assignments and also download necessary software and other data. Students email accounts are linked with Google Apps in which they have been provided a space of 25GB for their emails and documents sharing. University staff and faculty are also provided with separate email accounts which are locally hosted in the University. A high speed internet connection of 60 MB bandwidth is available for students and faculty. This PERN internet facility is available not only in labs but also on wireless network (AUHOTSPOT) through which students can access internet from anywhere in the university premises with laptops and mobiles. PERN allows students and faculty to access number of internationally recognized E-Journals including IEEE, J-Store and many more. It also links AU with 72 Pakistani universities through PERN Intranet. With the collaboration of Higher Education Commission, all students and staff members are provided original software for their personal use. This project is known as "Microsoft for All". Students can download and install all genuine windows and more than 100 other Microsoft products without charge. “AU Hotspots” are created to provide campus-wide wireless internet access. Hotspots cloud is available in lawns, cafeteria and parking lots. A high quality video conferencing facility is also available to share lectures with other national and international universities, and also with the Multan Campus. All university blocks are interlinked on optical fiber network. The University also launches the “Laptop for All” scheme from time to time. Through this students and staff of the University can acquire a laptop computer on easy installments. This payment is without any interest or markup and the University arranges funds for this scheme itself. Class rooms are equipped with Multimedia and OH Projectors.

Language Laboratory

AU is committed to improve communication skills of the students. For this purpose, a sophisticated language laboratory has been established equipped with language desks through computers. This state-of-the-art equipment with 40 booths for students helps a lot to improve the communication skills of the students. The laboratory has the latest software that encourages independent learning at various levels.

AU Placement and Alumni Office

The Placement and Alumni office of Air University is responsible for seeking internship and employment opportunities for its students and graduates. This office regularly arranges Career Fairs, Engineering Projects Exhibitions and On-Campus employment interviews and tests for various organizations. Job related skills are given the highest priority at Air University. In this regard, the Placement and Alumni Office organizes various activities to make students ready and well prepared for the job market. Some of the activities that have been regularly organized by this office are CV Writing Workshops, Interview Skills, Seminars and Lectures from top level executives of major organizations. It also serves as a bridge between the University and the growing community of its alumni. It helps and assists the alumni to strengthen the friendships formed in the university, build strong and mutually beneficial ties between the University and its alumni, create a dynamic alumni program that will stimulate interest, assist and advance the alumni in the pursuit of excellence, promote goodwill in the community and, build loyalty, increase involvement and generate support for the University.

Transport Facility

Air University transport is available on payment for most students. This transport facility is available on pre-desingated routes between Rawalpindi and Islamabad.


Air University does not have a hostel facility. However, there are many private hostels for males and females in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The students have to make their personal arrangements for hostels.

Campus Medical Officer

An on-campus medical officer is available for faculty, staff and students from 8:30am till 4:30pm, from Monday to Friday. The doctor provides medical consulting, emergency clinical treatment, referral service and first aid. The doctor is also responsible for providing health and hygiene related information to faculty, staff and students. This office also organizes blood donation drives in coordination with various public and private sector organizations

Center for Counseling and Psychological services

Center for Counseling and Psychological services, located on the ground floor, mini block, offers professional support to AU personnel (faculty members, students, and administrative staff). This center provides counseling and guidance for dealing with stressors as well as associated psychological distress. Stressful life and psychological distress adversely affects optimum functioning, motivational level, career goals and overall well-being. AU Psychologist, Dr. Shakira Huma Siddiqui, has been working in this center since 2007. All personal information is handled in the best professional manner and in complete confidentiality.

Students Affairs Department

The Student Affairs Department of AU ensures that the general code of conduct,( Dress Code & Discipline etc.) is implemented in letter and spirit. It helps students in organizing various inter/intra/extra-curricular activities/events. The department also renders necessary assistance in resolving different issues amongst the students besides giving them appropriate guidance. AU Campus has been declared a ‘Smoke Free Zone' w.e.f. 01 Jan 2013 except the area falling north of Student Gate.

Student Advisors

Each student is assigned an Advisor from the faculty. The Advisor helps the students to identify and achieve high academic goals and take advantage of learning opportunities. The Advisors also guide students at the time of course registration every semester.
