MOU with University of Southampton, uk
Air University (AU) is proud to have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with University of Southampton (UoS) UK. This is another significant milestone achieved towards AU’s strategic aim of internationalization. The MoU was signed by Dr Ijaz A Malik, Vice Chancellor Air University and Prof Mark Spearing, Pro Vice Chancellor International, University of Southampton. Under the MoU, which will remain in force for a period of five years initially, UoS and AU have agreed to initiate an international partnership programme which will involve exchange of scientific, academic, and technical information, faculty and students exchanges for pursuing research and to lecture, cooperation in joint research and development in disciplines of mutual interest, identification of opportunities for commercialization of technology, and organization and participation of joint academic and scientific activities such as seminars and conferences.
First MoU was signed between Air University and Kingston University, UK in November 2005 for quality assurance in Undergraduate / Graduate teaching programs including teaching and research carried out by MS / PhD students. Both institutions also agreed to explore the possibility of mutual cooperation for the establishment of the new Institute of Avionics and Aeronautics at Air University, Islamabad.
Second MoU was signed between Air University and Institute for International Bildungskooperation, Germany in December 2005 for quality assurance in Undergraduate / Graduate teaching programmes including teaching and research carried out by MS / PhD students and ensure the Faculty Development Program.
Third MoU was signed between Air University and Blekinge Institute of Technology, Sweden in May 2006 for promoting mutually beneficial cooperation in scientific, educational and other relations comprising of exchange of information on educational and research programmes, exchange of information during scientific seminars, workshops or conferences on problems of interest to both institutions and exchange of scientific and educational literature produced by either or both parties.
Collaboration between AU and Chinese University
In 2008, AU Lab Engineers Ms. Syeda Narjis Fatima Rizvi and Mr. Waqar Ahmad, AU Students Mr. Naveed Ahmad Abbasi and Mr.Muhammad Zakwan were sent to Northern western Polytechnical University(NPU) China, under Chinese Govt Scholarship Scheme and AU Faculty development Program for MS Studies.
