Air University Central
Library |
| |
The library aims to enrich learning, teaching
and research programmes of the university by providing
timely access to the high quality scholarly information
and learning material in a variety of formats. With this
mission in mind, University aims to be a premier provider
of knowledge-based information resources and user-focused
services.
Currently located in the basement of administration block,
Library has a print collection of more than 12,000 vols.
about 20 serial publications and 8 newspapers are on subscription
list. Where as, campus wide access to more than 22,000
electronic journals is available through the HEC’s
digital library. In addition to students, faculty and
other administrative staff members of the university,
Library offers paid membership to PAF personnel, academicians
and research scholars.
There are two discussion rooms for group study and six
fully equipped study carrels with computers in the researcher’s
room. In addition to this, five computers are available
in magazine room for online access to digital resources.
The library also provides the facility of T.V. room and
coffee corner to its users. |

Computer Laboratories and Internet
Facilities |

Air University has six computer labs and
one language lab with around 300 workstations. These labs
are fully equipped with latest available machines that
are centrally connected on domain based network. These
labs provide the facilities of internet, intranet, individual
email address, individual secure profiles and separate
storage areas. Students have the access of computer labs
from morning 8:00 am to 9:00 pm six days a week.
University has established its own private optical fiber
network and a Local Area Network (LAN) to make campus
wide uninterrupted internet connectivity possible .
Through the University financed “Laptop for All”
scheme, all students and staff of the University can acquire
a laptop computer on one to three years installment payment
plan, without any interest or markup. All laptops provided
under this scheme are connected with Wireless AU LAN.
“AU Hotspots” have been created to provide
the campus wide internet access. Hotspots clouds are available
in lawns, cafeteria and in parking lots.
A video conferencing facility is also available in campus
to share lectures with other national and international
universities.
Soon, the university will be connected with PERN-II which
is an intranet between Pakistani universities under HEC
umbrella |

Language Laboratory |

AU is committed to improve communication
skills of the students. For this purpose, a sophisticated
language laboratory has been established equipped with
language desks through computers. This state-of-the-art
equipment with 40 booths for students helps a lot to improve
the communication skills of the students. The laboratory
has the latest software that encourages independent learning
at various levels. |

AU Placement and Alumni Office |

The Placement and Alumni office of Air University
is responsible for seeking internship and employment opportunities
for its students and alumni. It also serves as a bridge
between the Alumni and the University.
Placement and Alumni Office regularly arranges Career
Fairs, Engineering Projects Exhibitions and On-Campus
employment interviews and tests for various organizations
Job related skills are always given highest priority at
Air University. In this regard, Placement and Alumni Office
organizes various activities to make students ready and
well prepared for the job market. Some of the activities
that have been regularly organized by Placement and Alumni
Office are CV Writing Workshops, Interview Skills Seminars
and Lectures from top level executive managers from major
organizations |

Transport Facility |

Air University transport is available on
payment for most students. This transport facility is
available on pre-desingated routes between Rawalpindi
and Islamabad |

Hostels |
| |
Air University does not have a hostel facility.
However, there are many private hostels for males and
females in Islamabad and Rawalpindi. The students have
to make their personal arrangements for hostels. |

Campus Medical Officer |
| |
On Campus Medical Officer is available for
faculty, staff and students from 8:30am till 4:30pm, from
Monday to Friday. The doctor provides medical consulting,
emergency clinical treatment, referral service and first
aid. The doctor is also responsible for providing health
and hygiene related information to faculty, staff and
students. This office also organizes blood donation drives
in coordination with various public and private sector
organizations |

Counseling Cell |

A Counseling Cell has been established inside
the campus for helping student in resolving their problems
of socio-cultural or psychological nature. A licensed
Clinical Psychologist helps students with their personal
or professional issues, that may affect their studies
and/or their career goals. |

Student Advisors |
| |
Each student is assigned an Advisor from
the faculty. The Advisor helps the students to identify
and achieve high academic goals and take advantage of
learning opportunities. The Advisors also guide students
at the time of course registration every semester |
