Socities & Clubs
  The University hiking club fosters comradeship among the students and faculty. Hiking trips are regularly arranged to nearby Margalla Hills. The club has some exciting plans for hiking in the northern areas in coming summer. They will also be visiting the base camp of K-2 during the summer vacation of 2009.
  The Cultural Society of Air University has provided a platform to the students to polish their interpersonal skills and acquire additional skills like event management, crisis management etc. to prepare them for the future career challenges. During past few years, the society has been very active in disseminating knowledge and entertainment to the students in form of various activities like Basant Festival’07, Welcome/Farewell party’07, Spring Fiesta’08, Painting competition’08, AUDF-1’08, Talent hunt show in 2008 and the musical concert “Say it with Music ,09”.
  The Thespian Society arranges short plays, movie evenings and invites guest actors and directors to give talks about acting, directing and stage management. During the academic year 2008-9, society has arranged movie evenings and prepared students to take part in a Media Festival: an Intra-universities contest. During the Student's Week (2008), the Society organized acting competitions; and while students week (2009) the Society is arranging competitions in drama, short films, commercials, still images/photography and singing.
  The Society was formed in 2002 with a view to provide a forum for students to remain abreast with the latest developments and research in Engineering and Computer Science. ERCS endeavors to bring innovative ideas into practical shape.
  The Islamic Society has been an active instrument in creating religious tolerance, knowledge of contemporary issues and keen interest of religion amongst students of Air University. Through a series of seminars, presentations and lectures by eminent scholars, it has bridged the gap between theory and practice. Their prominent contribution is the establishment of University Mosque and provision of transport facility to students for Jumma prayers .Their future goals include the establishment of a separate section on Islam in AU Library and expansion of AU mosque.
  Since its inception, the Air University Literary Society (AULS) has been actively involved in almost all the major co-curricular activities held at Air University. The society organizes activities like debate/speech contests, poetry competitions, seminars, lectures by guest speakers, essay writing competitions and mushaira with poets of national and international repute invited as guests. It thus, provides a strong platform to the students where they can express their views openly and also improve their on-stage confidence and oral presentation skills. The AULS not only holds in-house functions but also prepares the students for participation in various events held in other institutions all over Pakistan.
  The Music Society has been formed by AU Students who play musical instruments and enjoy singing. They practice and plan their compositions and perform in front of AU students in the cafeteria during their leisure times. In the past, they have arranged musical competitions by inviting bands from other Universities.
  The Science and Technology Society arranges talks, films and exhibitions. Senior professors, scientists and professionals from prominent universities and research organizations are invited as guest speakers. Students have visited many universities to participate in science exhibitions.
