Computer Labs:
AU has established computer labs for its students fully equipped with latest available machines and multimedia projectors. These labs are available to all students from morning to late night. Students have their own profiles and secure home folders where they can save their assignments and other data. These labs have the facility of internet, individual email address, individual secure profiles and storage areas. Every student has an individual login and password to access the available resources.
Local Area Network (LAN):
AU has its local area network connecting all campus wide computers. Through the network every faculty member, admin or staff member can share their data with each other. This local area network is connecting different building and nearby telephone exchange with optical fiber cable. All computer labs are centrally connected on domain based network however all faculty computers are on workgroup to increase security for individuals.
To store data on central position a Storage Are Network (SAN) has been installed connected with servers.
Internet Facility:
University has is connected with internet through 3 mbps dedicated connection. One link is directly with PTCL through PERN (HEC) which is running on optical network from nearby telephone exchange. To make available redundancy 2nd connection is also ON which is also through optical fiber taken from local service provider.
Mail @ Air:
Every University faculty member, administration members, staff member every student has their own university email address to communicate each other. Through address book available you can find email address of any student to contact him. These are secure email address and different classes has their own group email address.
Optical Fiber Network:
Air University has established its private optical fiber network from nearby telephone F-8 Exchange to Air University campus to make error free connectivity to students and faculty members. Other than that all blocks of University are interlinked with optical fiber. This optical fiber is helping to eliminate the network downtime.
Wireless LAN:
University has established its own wireless LAN to make available its LAN all over the campus including class rooms, conference halls etc for faculty members. All university laptops are connected with this Wireless AU LAN.
HOTSPOTS:
AU Hotspot provides the facility of internet campus wide to its students and faculty and administration members. HOTSPOT cloud is available in grounds, cafeteria and even in parking. Student enjoy the facility campus wide
" Laptop For All" Scheme
Air University administration has proudly announced the laptop for all scheme for its students, faculty members, administration members and staff members. The most impressing features of this scheme is that university its self financing this scheme and any person related to Air University can get a laptop on 1-3 years lease with any interest or markup. University has allocated a large amount for this scheme and trying to spread the laptop culture among students, faculty members, administration, staff and students.
For Gaming Society:
University allows its students who are the members of gamming society to play games on some specific times in computer labs through local area network.
Language Laboratory:
AU is committed to improve communication skills of the students. For this purpose a sophisticated language laboratory has been established equipped with language desks through computers. This state-of-the-art equipment with 40 booths for students helps a lot to improve communication skills of students.
