Mehfil-e- Moseeqi : Tribute to Iqbal Air University Music Society organized Mehfil-e-Moseeqi for Iqbal Day to pay a tribute and to acknowledge and recognize the work and contributions of Allama Muhammad Iqbal, Shair-e-Mashriq, “Poet of the East”. This event was particularly organized in the remembrance of his philosophy through the music to awaken the spirits of youth with the aims to bring out the light of “Revolution” through literature for the united subcontinent. Accentuating on the main aim of the event, Air University Music Society lined up a series of performances of “Kalam – e – Iqbal”. The event started with the National Anthem which was followed by the voice of Aimen Azhar and Mustasim on “Shikwa-Jawab-e-Shikwa. The initiative was taken forward by the Usman Khattak who amused the audience with “Saqi-Nama” of Bale-Jibril. Giving a raise to the event “Zeal the band” starring Jibran and Hassan hyped the crowd with “Zamane k Andaaz” by Junoon. The event continued with the mesmerizing voice of President; Air University Music Society and the Joint Secretary Musicians “Omayr Rajput” and “Kaynat Malik” respectively, as they stole the spotlight with the vocalization of the very Kalam-e-Iqbal “Khudi ka Sir-e-Nihaan-La Ila ha Il-lal- Allah”. The event continued with the Prayer of Heaven, “A Longing” by Ayesha Raja and Zamane kay Andaz by Zainish Naqvi. Finally, this amusing mehfil ended with the choir “Iqbal’s Dua”, and a standing ovation was given to “Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal” by the team members of Air University Music Society. Concluding the event Ms. Fazaila Ali – Director of Student Affairs ended the memorable day with her appreciating words and closing remarks. This event was a successful promotion of the literature and contributions of Dr. Allama Muhammad Iqbal inviting the young students of Air University to lift up their morals and follow the path that can lead them to be Iqbal’s Shaheen.
