Air University, April 17th 2019 – Ms Inge Iqbal, Director German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) Information Center, Islamabad visited AU for an information session exclusively for AU faculty and staff members. She gave a detailed presentation to Directors, Deans, HoDs and faculty members of AU covering the following aspects:
- Funding opportunities for research collaboration / co-operation.
- Opportunities of University Partnerships for Faculty / Staff Members.
- Specific research and mobility opportunities for DAAD / HEC alumni.
The audience appreciated Ms Inge’s exhaustive presentation and the enormous opportunities DAAD is offering for Pakistani researchers for collaboration with German universities. A number of AU faculty members who are DAAD alumni and done Masters / PhD at German universities also attended the presentation.
It is worth mentioning that AU already enjoys strong research collaboration with two German Universities: (1) Techical University Darmstadt (Dr Waqas Khalid) and University of Hamburg (Dr Zulqurnain Ali).
It is hoped that this visit by Director DAAD, Pakistan will inspire further collaborations between AU and German universities through funding opportunities offered by DAAD.
