Inspection of the designated premises carried out by UGC.

Air Comodore (Retd) Zafar Ahmed appointed as Director P & D.
April 2002
Feasibility of the Air University revised in the light of the fresh conditions imposed by the UGC for establishing a University.
Construction of Admin Block commenced.
June 2002
Advertising campaign started of admissions in Electronics, Engineering and MBA.
July 2002
Hiring of faculty and staff for Air University commenced.
University Prospectus and Students' Handbook designed.
August 2002
Charter re-submitted to the Cabinet Division, after having been routed through HEC, Education Ministry, and Ministry of Law.
September 2002
Charter revised in accordance with the Model Universities Act, and submitted to the Cabinet for the second time.
Classes of the first batch of Air University commenced.
October 2002
Air University Charter signed by the President of Pakistan.
First student Handbook published.
April 2003
AU administration moved into the newly constructed Block.
June 2003
Cheif of Air Staff visited the University.
Prime Minister of Pakistan formally inaugurates the Air University, and donates Rs. 20 million to the University.
September 2003
First semester of the new intake in Telecom, Computer, and Mechatronics Engineering commenced.
Feburary 2004
First meeting of the Air University Board of Governors held.
March 2005
PEC's 1st Inspection for accreditation of Engineering Disciplines carried out.
September 2005
In about one year's time PCs-1 for Computer Labs (Rs. 10 Million), IT and Computer Labs (Rs. 25.27 Million), and three Engineering Labs (Rs. 36.13 Million), were approved by the HEC
February 2006
HEC approved PC-1 and construction work commenced on Institute of Avionics and Aeronautics.
March 2006
PEC's 2nd Inspection for accreditation carried out.
April 2006
PEC accorded accreditation for Electronics Engineering program.
July 2006
First Newsletter Published.
September 2007
First convocation held. 463 Students received degrees.
