ORIC has self-adopted its mandate to enhance the environment for all research activities and scholarship schemes by:

  • 1. Developing the university’s strategic research directions and policies.
  • 2. Increasing and diversifying external research funding.
  • 3. Improving integration of research and education at all levels of the university.
  • 4. Transforming research into useful products for public benefit.
  • 5. Strengthening university-industry relationships.
  • 6. Nurturing entrepreneurship, technology-transfer and commercialization for sustainable economic development.
  • 7. Stimulating and augmenting cross-cutting and multi-disciplinary research initiatives
  • 8. Modeling incentives and awards schemes for valued research and publications.

  • 3. Legal, administrative and financial management support of research grants
  • 4. Contribution towards economic growth through research and innovation
  • 5. Support commercialization and licensing of the university research products
  • 6. Develop public-private partnership for mutual benefit
  • 7. Liaison with national and international research institutes
  • 8. Promotion of the research culture amongst students and faculty
  • 9. Bridge the gap between Industry and academia for joint research projects
  • 10. Upscale the research publications in impact factor journals
  • 11. Liaison with national and international research funding agencies
  • 12. Patent filing, scrutiny and fulfilling other legalities in the matter
  • 13. Identifying opportunities of collaborations with national and international academia
  • 14. Creating University-Industry linkages
  • 15. Establishment of Research and Business Incubation Center
