Eligibility Criteria
  • Associate Degree in Science (Computer Science) Evening Program

    Applicants must have scored 50% or more marks. FSC/ Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering, ICS or equivalent (minimum 12 years) with at least 50% marks. The Intermediate (Part I and II) examination of any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan. Applicants must have scored 50% or more marks.

    Class Timing: 3:30 PM to 8:00 PM

    Note: University would offer program with subject to fulfillment minimum required induction

  • Bachelor of Science International Relations (BS-IR)

    The Intermediate (Part I and II) examination of any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan. Applicants must have scored 50% or more marks.

    OR

    An examination equivalent to Intermediate. Such candidates are required to submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter Board Chairman Committee, Islamabad, before the semester starts. This certificate must indicate the marks equivalent to marks in the Intermediate examination.

    OR

    The GCE 'A' level examination with three subjects. Such candidates are required to submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter Board Chairman Committee, Islamabad, before the semester starts. This certificate must indicate the marks equivalent to marks in the Intermediate examination.

    Applicants awaiting results may be given provisional admission until the declaration of their respective results. Only those scoring 50% or more marks shall be considered. Those scoring less than 50% marks shall have their provisional admissions cancelled and shall be withdrawn from their respective programs.

    Applicants scoring minimum passing marks in the Intermediate or in GCE ‘A’ level or in any other examination equivalent to the intermediate are eligible for admission. Those getting partial pass results due to any reason, or who are required to appear in compartment/supplementary paper(s), are not eligible for admission even if their aggregate marks are 50% or more in their respective examination.

  • Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA-Honors)

    The Intermediate (Part I and II) examination of any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan. Applicants must have scored 50% or more marks.

  • Bachelor of Electrical Engineering / Bachelor of Mechatronics Engineering / Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering / Bachelor of Computer Engineering

    Applicants must have passed: Intermediate (Part I and II) examination with Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan. In addition, a combination of Physics, Mathematics and Computer Studies/ Computer Science (ICS) is also allowed for admission in all Engineering Programs with Chemistry as remedial subject/ course in 1st Semester after admission. Applicant must have scored ≥60% marks.

    OR

    An examination equivalent to Intermediate. Such candidates are required to submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter Board Chairman Committee (IBCC), Islamabad before the semester starts. This certificate must indicate obtained equivalent marks in Intermediate.

    OR

    GCE ‘A’ level examination with three subjects (Physics, Chemistry & Mathematics) or combination of Physics, Mathematics & Computer Studies/ Computer Science (ICS) is also allowed for admission in all Engineering Programs with Chemistry as remedial subject/ course in 1st Semester after admission The candidates are required to submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter Board Chairman Committee (IBCC), Islamabad before the semester starts. This certificate must indicate obtained equivalent marks in Intermediate.

    Applicants awaiting results shall be given provisional admission until declaration of their respective results. Applicants scoring 60%. or more marks shall only be granted admission. Those scoring less than 60% marks shall have their provisional admission cancelled and they shall be withdrawn from their respective program. Upon announcement of results, only those applicants shall be granted admission, who pass ALL the subjects and score at least 60% marks. Applicants getting partial pass result, due to any reason, or required to appear in compartment / supplementary paper(s) shall not be eligible for admission, even if their aggregate marks are 60% or more.

    Applicants awaiting results shall be given PROVISIONAL ADMISSION until declaration of results from respective Boards/ Examination body. Applicants scoring ≥60% shall only be granted admission. Those scoring less than 60% marks shall have their provisional admission cancelled and they shall be withdrawn from their respective program immediately. Upon announcement of results, only those applicants shall be granted admission, who pass all subjects and score at least 60% marks. Applicants getting partial pass result, due to any reason, or required to appear in compartment / supplementary paper(s) shall not be eligible for admission, even if their aggregate marks are 60% or more.

    As per PEC revised Admission Criteria “The passing marks in the Entry Test by authorized HEIs/ Entities will be minimum 33%”

  • BS Computer Sciences (BSCS)

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Mathematics or equivalent qualification with Mathematics, certified by IBCC.

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Pre-Medical or equivalent qualification, certified by IBCC.

    Note:

  • BS Information Technology (BSIT)

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Mathematics or equivalent qualification with Mathematics, certified by IBCC.

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Pre-Medical or equivalent qualification, certified by IBCC.

  • BS Cyber Security (BSCYS)

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Mathematics or equivalent qualification with Mathematics, certified by IBCC.

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Pre-Medical or equivalent qualification, certified by IBCC.

    Note:

  • BS Data Science (BSDS)

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Mathematics or equivalent qualification with Mathematics, certified by IBCC.

  • BS Accounting and Finance (BSAF)

    FA/FSc/I.Com/ICS or equivalent with minimum 50% marks

  • BS Physics(BSP)

    F.Sc., Pre-Engineering OR equivalent with Physics and Mathematics as major subjects, minimum 50% marks.

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Pre-Medical or equivalent qualification, certified by IBCC.

    The candidates who qualify the Admission Test will only be offered admission as per position in merit list.

  • BS Mathematics (BSMATH)

  • BS Psychology (BSPsy)

    Applicant seeking admission in BS Psychology should have qualified the Intermediate examination from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan ‘OR’ An examination equivalent to the Intermediate for which such candidates must submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter-Board Chairman Committee, Islamabad. Applicants must have scored 50% or more marks.

  • Bachelor of Biomedical Engineering (BME)

    Applicants must have passed: Intermediate (Part I and II) examination with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology from any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan. Applicant must have scored 60% or more marks.

    OR

    An examination equivalent to Intermediate. Such candidates are required to submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter Board Chairman Committee, Islamabad before the semester starts. This certificate must indicate the marks equivalent to marks in Intermediate.

    OR

    GCE 'A' level examination with three subjects (Physics, Chemistry, and Math/Biology.). The candidates are required to submit an Equivalence Certificate issued by the Inter Board Chairman Committee, Islamabad before the semester starts. This certificate must indicate the marks equivalent to marks in Intermediate.

  • BS Tourism and Hospitality Management (BSTHM)

    The Intermediate (Part I and II) examination of any Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan. Applicants must have scored 50% or more marks.

    OR

    FSC/ Pre-Medical, Pre-Engineering or equivalent (minimum 12 years) with at least 50% marks.

  • BS Computer Games Development (BSCGD)

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Mathematics or equivalent qualification with Mathematics, certified by IBCC.

    OR

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Pre-Medical or equivalent qualification, certified by IBCC.

    Note:

    “Students with pre-medical, must have to pass deficiency courses of Mathematics of 6 credit hours in first two semesters.”

  • BS Software Engineering as (HEC Approved-Non PEC Program) (BSSE)

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Mathematics or equivalent qualification with Mathematics, certified by IBCC.

    OR

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Pre-Medical or equivalent qualification, certified by IBCC.

    Note:

  • BS Artificial Intelligence (BSAI)

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Mathematics or equivalent qualification with Mathematics, certified by IBCC.

    At least 50% marks in Intermediate (HSSC) examination with Pre-Medical or equivalent qualification, certified by IBCC.

  • BS Strategic Studies (BSSS)

    Intermediate or equivalent (12 years of education) with a minimum of 50% marks

  • Bachelor of Education(BEDU)

    As per AU policy, i.e., the candidates seeking admission in Bachelor of Education 4 years program should have qualified the Intermediate examination from any board of Intermediate and Secondary Education in Pakistan ‘OR’ an examination equivalent to the Intermediate for which such candidates must submit An Equivalence Certificate issues by the Inter-Board Chairman Committee, Islamabad. Applicants must have scored 50% or more marks in at least 12 years schooling.

  • Bachelor of Science in Financial Technologies (BSFinT)

    FSc(Pre-Engineering/Pre-Medical)/I.Com/ICS or equivalent with minimum 50% marks.

  • MS Aerospace Engineering (Evening)

    Specialization in Fluid Dynamics/Solid Mechanics

    BE/ B.Sc. Engineering (Aerospace/ Aeronautical/ Mechatronics / Mechanical / Chemical) with minimum CGPA 2.00/4.00 or equivalent.

    NTS GAT(Gen) Cat-A / HEC HAT Cat-1 at least 50 score or GRE (general) with minimum of 151 score in Quantitative Reasoning, 145 in Verbal Reasoning, and 3.5/6.0 in analytical writing. This must be passed before the date of admission in MS Program.

    BE/B.Sc. Engineering or similar qualification in a relevant discipline. Fresh graduates are eligible but some relevant industrial experience will help a student gain more from the program.

    Minimum CGPA 2.00/4.00 or equivalent. Students from other disciplines may be required to take prerequisite courses determined by the Department.

    NTS GAT(Gen) Cat-A / HEC HAT Cat-1 at least 50 score or GRE (general) with minimum of 151 score in Quantitative Reasoning, 145 in Verbal Reasoning, and 3.5/6.0 in analytical writing. This must be passed before the date of admission in MS Program.

    Minimum 2.00/4.00 CGPA or 50% marks in annual system

    University Admission Test and Interview

    The candidates who qualify the Entrance Test will only be offered admission as per position in merit list.

  • MS Business Analytics (Evening/Weekend)

    BS (Business Administration/Management Sciences), BS (Computer Science), BS (Software Engineering) or equivalent four year degree programs (Min 130 credit hours).

    16 years Science (Statistics, Mathematics), BS Engineering (Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering) graduates are eligible to apply. Credit hours to be studied will be considered on case-to case basis and as per need, a bridging or zero semester may be added. A minimum CGPA of 2.0/4.0 in the semester system or equvalent in annual system is required.

    NTS GAT(Gen) Cat-A / HEC HAT Cat-2 at least 50 score or GRE (general) with minimum of 151 score in Quantitative Reasoning, 145 in Verbal Reasoning, and 3.5/6.0 in analytical writing. This must be passed before the date of admission in MS Program.

    Minimum 16 years of education in a business related field (MBA/MPA/M.Com /ACMA /ACA/B.Com 4 years program) and BBA Hons. 4 years program (124-136 Cr. Hrs.) with at least 2.00/4.00 CGPA or equivalent in last-earned degree from HEC Recognized University/Institute.

    NTS GAT(Gen) Cat-A / HEC HAT Cat-2 at least 50 score or GRE (general) with minimum of 151 score in Quantitative Reasoning, 145 in Verbal Reasoning, and 3.5/6.0 in analytical writing. This must be passed before the date of admission in MS Program.

    Intradisciplinary qualification Candidates are also eligible for admission in MBA/MS/M. Phil programs provided that the Departmental Admission Committee is satisfied with candidate's primary knowledge of applied program by correlating his/her basis qualification and ability to undertake the level 6 courses. If deemed appropriate, the candidate would be required to register in a Zero semester for additional courses (maximum 09 CH) as suggested by the departmental Admission Committee and the candidate would be required to pass the Zero Semester with a minimum 2.00 CGPA without failing in any subject. Fee for those courses would be charged as per program's applicable rate. However MBA/MS/M.Phil's degree duration would be started from first semester of regular program.

    GRE/GAT Subject in Information Security, with at least 60% score. In case of non-availability of GRE/GAT Subject in Information/Cyber Security, department would conduct an equivalent test based on HEC guidelines. The applicant has to score 70% in this test for becoming eligible for admission.

  • Admission Requirement for Intradisciplinary Degree Candidates
    Eligibility Criteria

    The applicant is required to meet the following minimum eligibility requirements:

    Degree Requirement:

    Prior to admission into a PhD program, the student shall have been awarded MS/MPhil or equivalent degree as described in this policy. Where necessary, the candidate may be admitted in Zero Semester to clear the deficient course of 9-12 Credit Hours, if/ as determined by the Departmental Admission Committee. Passing of Deficient courses with min 3.0/4.0 is mandatory in maximum two chances. The Zero Semester would not be counted towards maximum degree duration.

    Entry Test:

    Pass the Air University (equivalent to Graduate Record Examination GRE/Higher Education Aptitude Test (HAT in relevant category) with a passing score of 60% OR Pass an equivalent test conducted by Air University OR conducted by testing bodies accredited / recognized by HEC.

    Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA):

    (a) For admission in a PhD program, a minimum CGPA of 3.00 (out of 4.00) or 60% (in the annual system degree awarded in percentage %) in the MS/MPhil/equivalent degree being considered for admission, is required, whether such degree was obtained from Pakistani or foreign universities.

    (c) A student having strong demonstrated interest in obtaining PhD degree, but with CGPA below 3.00 (out of 4.00 in the semester system) or 60% marks (in the annual system degree awarded in percentage %) in the most recent degree obtained, may be admitted to a PhD program after fulfilling the following requirements:- (i) Register and pass additional courses of 9-12 CH of level 7 (Masters level) taking a zero semester at the awarding university/HEI/DAI and core minimum 3.00 out of 4.00 GPA, (ii) Satisfy the admission committee that the applicant's knowledge of primary area (level 7; Masters) has sufficiently prepared him/her to undertake the course of studies of the doctoral program, and (iii) fulfil all other requirements set in this policy for admission to a PhD program.

    Statement of Purpose:

    All applicants are required to submit a Statement of Purpose along with the application form, writing clearly their intended research interest and preference/choice of Supervisor where applicable. The statement of purpose will include: (i) Title of the potential research proposal, (ii) Clear articulation of the current understanding of the intended field and ideas for potential research, and (iii) Explanation of the intended impact of the proposed research.

    Admission Requirement for Intradisciplinary Degree Holders:

    The candidate who is intended to admission in a PhD program at AU with intra-disciplinary qualification is required to pass GRE-Subject/Equivalent Test with minimum 50% marks in the discipline of admission and also required to pass 6-9 CH of deficiency courses of level 7 of relevant degree program. The candidate should have strong interest in pursuing a PhD in a different discipline. These requirements shall be in addition to any other requirements set in this policy for admission to a PhD program. In such a case, the candidate would not be a student of PhD program. Such candidates would be offered provisional admissions to MS/MPhil programs offered in Fall & Spring intakes to enable the candidates to apply for PhD programs where intradisciplinary candidates are accepted. Contingent upon this qualification with min 3.0/4.0 in max two chances to fulfil the deficiency requirement, the candidate would be required to apply for PhD program (as and when offered), Pass the GAT (Subject)/ or Equivalent Test with 60% marks and appear before admission committee prior to admission. Based on Departmental Admission Committee’s recommendation the candidate may be admitted in a PhD Program. The Committee may further determine (where required) the deficient/ essential course (s) to study in addition to required mandatory 18 Credit Hours to complete the course work.
