Message of Program Manager

In 1968, a group of experts from various professions recognized the need for a new discipline: software engineering. This recognition arose due to the lack of standardized approaches to handling software issues. Since then, software engineering has grown significantly in importance, fueled by advancements in the software industry, technological progress, and the pervasive use of computers in daily life.

The Air University Software Engineering program commenced in 2019. Our degree program is organized according to the guidelines set by the National Computing Education Accreditation Council (NCEAC), which the Higher Education Commission (HEC) regards as the standard.

Our mission is to train engineers who can apply an interdisciplinary approach to solving software problems across various fields, including banking, social sciences, telecommunications, online services, art, and statistical works. Our core courses thoroughly cover essential software development stages, including analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance. This theoretical knowledge is applied to real-world challenges through numerous project-based courses. Additionally, our students are required to complete a 6-week software internship.

The primary goal of our department is to cultivate individuals who value teamwork, possess strong analytical thinking abilities, can hypothesize solutions to diverse problems, design using innovative ideas, and continuously strive for improvement.

Graduates of our program will be well-prepared to work as software engineers in the global software industry. They will be capable of creating high-quality, reliable software products using various modeling techniques to address complex problems. Their project management skills will enable them to deliver these products on time and within budget.

The demand for software engineers is expected to rise significantly due to the critical role of information technologies both nationally and internationally, in line with "The Strategy of Europe 2020." In the manufacturing and service industries, new engineers who can quickly adapt to changes and keep up with technological advancements will be sought after for roles involving embedded systems software development. The rapid growth of e-state services in our country over the past decade highlights the industry's need for software expertise. Moreover, the expansion of R&D efforts across various businesses further underscores the demand for innovative work in this field.

We are proud to be at the forefront of this dynamic and evolving discipline. We are committed to continuing our mission of producing skilled and adaptable software engineers who will make significant contributions to the industry.
