The construction of various academic and other facilities at South Campus are planned to be undertaken in 04 to 06 phases spread over a period of 15 years. Phase-1 consists of an Academic, Administration, and a Hostel Block. Academic Block consist of 54 classrooms and 11 advanced laboratories with covered area of 92,000 SFT. It has capacity of 1400 students while Hostel Block can accommodate 350 students with covered area of 65,000 SFT. Construction of Administration Block having covered area of 76,000 SFT is also in progress. Infrastructure works include roads, boundary wall, sewerage lines, drains, footpaths, electric and gas lines, guard room, IESCO room, and a stadium. Phase-1 of the project would be completed by March, 2023.

A visit was hosted by the Department of Planning and Development to brief the management committee about the current progress of AU South Campus coupled with the plantation event. It was an initiative to promote environmental sustainability and community engagement. Specific achievements and plans were highlighted about the universities future direction and priorities.
