The Department of Avionics Engineering at IAA offers MS and PhD degrees both in Avionics Engineering and Information Security. The offered programs provide an opportunity for students to pursue a rigorous course of studies reflecting the challenges of today's high-tech aviation industry. The department offers various specializations which probe the frontiers of engineering and scientific knowledge through in-depth courses. Advanced concepts and applications are emphasized throughout the courses and subsequent research thesis. During the last few decades, the aviation industry has experienced an exponential increase in the application of digital communications, controls, navigation, radar and computer systems. Recently, information security challenges are also emerging in the civil aviation industry specifically owing to the interfaces provided to the passengers where a malicious activity may jeopardize the overall safety and security of an aircraft, such as computing system compromise by attacking in-flight infotainment system. Consequently, realizing the multi-disciplinary context of avionics systems, the department's emphasis is on provisioning of the requisite knowledge and skills so that our alumni can continue to pursue lifelong multidisciplinary learning as professionals in Avionics Engineering and Information Security fields.
